December 5, 2022 (Madrid, IA) – A new hardware store in Madrid, True Value, is expected to open this spring.
Stacey and Jesse Bannor have been business owners for over a decade, launching Bannor Toys in Des Moines back in 2011. After moving their growing business to Madrid in 2016, the Bannor Family has not only recognized a personal need for a hardware store nearby, but they understand the value of a local option for those in the community.
“The community of Madrid is fortunate to have business leaders like Stacey and Jesse in their community,” said Dylan Kline, Director of Business Development at the Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commision. “The hardware store will provide essential services to an already vibrant town, and the community leaders in Madrid have played an essential role in making this happen.”
In addition to basic hardware needs such as painting materials, electrical products, and tools, True Value will offer items for several different categories. At True Value, you can also find rental equipment, an outdoor living section, and gift items for any upcoming holiday. There will also be a sporting goods section that will be stocked with fishing, hunting, camping, and swimming products. True Value also expects to expand into party rentals in the near future, which includes, tables, chairs, and decorations.
“We are excited to fill a gap in our community and bring a much needed hardware store to town,” said Stacey Bannor. “Whether you need a part to fix your sink, make a copy of a key, match a paint color, or need to rent an auger to put in fence posts…we’ll have it all! We look forward to making a bigger impact to our community through the hardware store.”
The project officially broke ground in early November, located at 215 Southern Prairie Drive in Madrid. Construction should be complete on the building in January, and the Bannor family hopes to open True Value for the community by April 2023.
