Boone County, Iowa (March 3, 2025) – Boone County Supervisors are pleased to announce the opening of two new maintenance garages in Ogden and Madrid. These facilities will enhance the county’s ability to maintain and improve road infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient services for the local communities.
The newly constructed garages are strategically located to serve the county’s growing needs and to better support maintenance operations across the region. The garages will house the equipment and materials necessary for snow removal, road repairs, and other essential public works projects.
“We are excited to see these new maintenance garages open in Ogden and Madrid,” said Boone County Supervisor Scott Longhorn, “These facilities represent a significant investment in our infrastructure, and they will help us support the safety and reliability of our roads for our residents and visitors.”
Each garage is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and ample storage space to support the County’s Secondary Roads Department, which is responsible for maintaining over approximately 192 miles of paved and 786 miles of granular surfaced roadways. The facilities also improve the efficiency of county operations, reducing travel time for maintenance crews and enabling quicker response times in emergency situations.
The Boone County Supervisors are committed to continually improving the county’s infrastructure to meet the needs of its growing population and the demands of an evolving transportation system. These maintenance garages mark an important step forward in maintaining the region’s roadways and public services for years to come.
